American attorney, jurist, and Democratic politician (1789-1851) who served as Secretary of the Navy under President Jackson, Secretary of the Treasury under Jackson and Van Buren, and as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court from 1845 until his death. Free-franked mailing panel, 8.5 x 3.75, addressed in another hand to "Henry Horn, Esqr., Philadelphia," and franked in the upper right, "Levi Woodbury." In fine condition. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "NM-MT 8."
