American diplomat and jurist (1849-1923) who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1903 to 1922. Prior to his service on the Supreme Court, Day served as United States Secretary of State during the administration of President William McKinley. The City National Bank check, 8.25 x 3, filled out and signed by William R. Day, payable to A. L. Biesheh for $20.35, December 12, 1899. In fine condition. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder, grading the autograph as "MINT 9."
