Confederate general (1832-1904) who surrendered Lee's army to Union General Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain at Appomattox Courthouse. After the war, he served as a senator from Georgia, as well as the state's 53rd governor. Ink signature, "J. B. Gordon,” on an off-white 3.5 x 1 slip clipped from a document. In fine condition, with a light rusty paperclip impression to the right edge. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
