(Walt Disney Studios, 1940) Magnificent original production drawings of the Chernabog and his demons from Fantasia, a pairing that expertly captures the demon lord’s frightful emergence during the film's 'Night on Bald Mountain' segment: the upper drawing depicts the winged Chernabog in an immensely powerful half-length pose, and the lower drawing shows the demon horde swirling frantically below. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on animation paper, both of which are matted together to an overall size of 21 x 24.5. The Chernabog image measures 13 x 9.5, and the whirlwind of demons image measures 10.5 x 3. In overall fine condition, with some wrinkling to left side of demons. Among the very best—and most impressive—of all the Chernabog drawings that we have seen.
