Originating from the personal collection of Buzz Aldrin—a flown 5.75 x 4.25 American flag carried to the moon during the Apollo 11 mission. In very fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from David Van Zile, the son of Beverly Van Zile, Buzz Aldrin’s second wife, which reads: “This letter will serve to confirm that Col. Edwin E. (Buzz) Aldrin Jr. met my mother, Beverly Van Zile, in 1974. They were married in 1975, and I lived at home with them while attending college at U.C.L.A. During that time, Buzz, my stepfather, gave me many space memorabilia items from his personal collection, as well as giving a number of items to my mother, and my grandmother…including this 4″ x 6″ U.S. flag that was flown to the moon with Buzz aboard Apollo 11.”
