Stage actor, songwriter, and playwright (1831-1891) who was also the co-founder of the Shriners, a Masonic Order. Uncommon 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of William J. Florence by Bradley & Rulofson of San Francisco, signed and inscribed in the lower border in ink by Florence, and also signed and inscribed by him on the reverse. In fine condition, with a rusty circular paperclip impression to the top, mild foxing, and slight blurring to ink on the front.
