Uncommon color 19.5 x 15.25 salesman's sample of a calendar for January 1933 entitled 'Hands Across the Sea,' which features artwork of William Fulton Soare's 1931 painting 'Mount Vernon (Hands Across the Sea),' depicting George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette greeting each other at Mount Vernon. The print is ornately matted and prepared by the Thos. D. Murphy Co., of Red Oak, Iowa, with the lower portion bearing a small embossed flap covering the miniature calendar. The matting is secured by string to the original publisher mount. In fine condition, with a light stain to the lower left corner.
