Two ALSs from British author John le Carre, both one page, 8 x 10 personal letterhead, addressed to Bootsie Katt. The earlier handwritten letter, dated June 17, 1989, in full: “Thank you for your letter. Alas, I cannot reply to your questions or I would never write books. I send you my best wishes.” The second letter, from May 19, 1991, in full: “Thanks so much for your kind letter, & kind words. I’ve met Norman M. [Mailer] once, but I have no contact with him, & certainly he is not consulting me or seeking my advice!” In overall fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelopes, both addressed in le Carre’s own hand.
