Two vintage Soviet-manufactured smoking items commemorating Yuri Gagarin's historic Vostok 1 flight of April 12, 1961, which made him the first man to go into space. The lighter measures approximately 1.5″ x 1.75″ x .5″, and the cigarette case measures approximately 3″ x 3.5″ x .5″. Both feature the same image, showing a cosmonaut looking toward the stars atop a Vostok rocket, trailed by the date of Gagarin's flight, "12-IV-1961." In overall fine condition.
From the collection of Ronald E.F. Hoskins.
