Two TLSs, both one page, 8.25 x 5.25, personal letterhead, both addressed to Willis Stork. The earlier letter, November 22, 1934, in part: "Your manuscript has just come in, and I'll read it at the first chance, which will probably be tomorrow. Needless to say, I am delighted to have it. I'll return it to you before the end of the week." The second letter, September 7, 1935, in full: "In November 1934, you were kind enough to let me see your 'Jargon of the Sports-Writers.' Have you ever published it? I ask because I want to make a reference to it in the new edition of my old book, 'The American Language,' now under way." In overall fine condition.
