Durable and highly regarded Russian-born pianist (1911-1995) who mastered a wide-ranging repertoire of Romantic and modern works. Four items: a semi-glossy 7.5 x 9.5 of Cherkassky at the piano, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "For Mr. Flemming Hedborg, with my very best wishes, Sincerely, Shura Cherkassky, March 1985"; a vintage fountain pen signature, "Shura Cherkassky," on an off-white 4.5 x 1 slip mounted to a slightly larger card; and two programs for a 1982 concert, each signed in blue ballpoint by Cherkassky. In fine condition, with moderate contrast to the handwriting on the signed photo.
