Printed, heavy silk World War II-era Japanese school flag, measuring 36 x 27, depicting a green horizon with rayed rising sun, featuring an eagle school emblem on the upper hoist corner. A small white rectangular inset has an ink-stamp of a school in western Honshu (main island). The flag has reinforced grommets at the hoist, and is lined with heavy brocade tassels. The flag is in excellent condition with very little fading of the colors, and only a few very minor stains. This was undoubtedly taken by a GI as a souvenir after the US occupation of Japan, and is an attractive WWII collectible that rates excellent condition overall.
