NASA research pilot (1926-1993) selected as an astronaut for the United States Air Force X-20 Dyna-Soar program in April 1960. Three items: an official glossy 10 x 8 NASA photo of an X-24A powered flight drop from a B-52, signed in the lower border in black felt tip, "Milt Thompson"; a glossy 10 x 8 photo of Thompson in his pilot's gear beside an X-15, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, "To Harry—Regards—Milt Thompson"; and a four-page NASA News press release containing a manned lifting body flight log, signed on the front page in black ballpoint, "Milt Thompson."
