Very rare 3 x 5.75 mourning ribbon worn by United States Military Railroad soldiers attending to the funeral train of President Abraham Lincoln as it made its way to Springfield, Illinois on May 4, 1865. The ribbon features an image of a beardless Lincoln in a bust-length pose, with bold upper and lower text: "U.S.M.R.R., Alexandria, VA." In very good condition, with light staining, and separation to the silk fibers across Lincoln's image.
