Personal check, 6.25 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Norman Rockwell, payable to assistant and close friend Louis Lamone for $20, January 16, 1959. Endorsed on the reverse in fountain pen by Lamone. In fine condition. Louis 'Louie' Lamone was a studio assistant, photographer, and close friend of Rockwell during the last 25 years of Rockwell’s life. At the beginning of his working relationship with Rockwell, Lamone was primarily charged with documenting paintings before they were shipped out to clients. During this period, he taught himself photography, and Rockwell eventually engaged Lamone to capture reference photos of models, and publicity photos for the press. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
