Description

American composer and lyricist (born 1928) best known for writing the music to such Broadway musicals as Bye Bye Birdie and Annie. Three AMQSs penned by composer and lyricist Charles Strouse on individual off-white 8 x 5 sheets, with each sheet featuring three or four bars of music as well as lyrics from popular songs like 'Put on a Happy Face' ("Grey skies are gon-na clear up, Put on a happy face"), 'Tomorrow' ("The sun-'ll come out To-mor-row!
Bet your bottom dollar"), and 'Those Were the Days' ("Boy, the tunes Glen Miller played, Songs that made the"). Two sheets aptly inscribed to "Annie," and the 'Put on a Happy Face' sheet also signed by lyricist Lee Adams. In overall fine condition.
