Uncommon Republic of Texas 50 dollar 'redback' note, 7.25 x 3.25, No. 3501, dated July 18, 1839, signed along the bottom by James H. Starr and Mirabeau B. Lamar. The note features engraved images of Venus rising from the ocean surrounded by sea monsters to left, a steam ship sails through waters to upper portion, and to far right is a portrait of Stephen F. Austin. In very good to fine condition, with expected cancellation cuts.
