Attractive Dar El Kahal chondrite meteorite slice, found in Mali, Africa in 2013. The full slice weighs 126 grams and measures approximately 125 mm x 90 mm x 4 mm. A strewnfield roughly 10 km in diameter produced about 85 kg of fragments and individuals, with an average weight of perhaps a few hundred grams. Only a couple of larger masses were recovered and this excellent full slice comes from one of them. The slice has a medium polish on one face and a protective coating on the other, giving a particularly nice, glossy finish. It is a very attractive, showy piece, with abundant, shiny metal flakes that make for impressive display. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Geoff Notkin of Aerolite Meteorites Inc. and the TV show Meteorite Men, as well as a specimen identification card.
