Two items: a TLS signed "J. M. Wainwright," one page, 8 x 10.5, October 27, 1945, Headquarters, Eastern Defense Command letterhead, addressed to Margueritte L. Coughlin, in full: "Your color picture of the Battleship Missouri has just arrived. It is very beautiful. Thank you ever so much for sending it to me"; and a vintage matte-finish 8 x 9.75 photo of Wainwright wearing his military uniform in a distinguished head-and-shoulders pose, signed and inscribed in black ink, "To Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Browne, Sincerely, J. M. Wainwright, General USA." Reverse of photo bears a War Department credit stamp. In overall very good to fine condition, with moderately heavy overall creasing to the photo. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope for the letter.
