Appealing group lot of four original color Office of War Information posters from World War II, including: a 28.5 x 40.25 poster published in 1943 by the US Government Printing Office (1943-O-563414), with artwork by Stevan Dohanos featuring a dramatic image of a large hand with Nazi ring placing down a puzzle piece, with the ominous text: "Bits of Careless Talk Are Pieced Together by the Enemy,” and the puzzle reading: "Convoy sails for England tonight”; a 22 x 28 poster published in 1942 by the US Government Printing Office (1942-O-502219), with artwork by Anton Otto Fischer portraying American sailors rowing away from their burning ship, with white text, "A careless word…A Needless Sinking”; a 22 x 28 poster published in 1943 by the US Government Printing Office (1943-O-504961), with design by Valentino Sarra showing a sailor’s concerned face through a porthole, with bold white text reading: “This man may die if you talk too much”; and a 14 x 22 poster published in 1942 by the US Government Printing Office (1942-O-496733), with artwork by Fred Sibel depicting a drowning man pointing an accusatory finger, with bold text: "Someone Talked.” In overall very good to fine condition, with some partial separations to intersecting folds (as issued), trivial stains, slight wear to edges, and a noticeable chip to right edge of “Someone Talked” poster.
