Interesting circa mid-1910s oversized Tuxedo tobacco advertising display box featuring Boston Braves pitcher Dick Rudolph, with the main panel measuring 13.75 x 18.75, portraying the 1914 World Series star in the center, with a caption below: "Richard Rudolph, Star Pitcher of World's Champion Baseball Team, says: 'What creature comfort can compare with a pipe-smoke of mild, mellow tobacco! What tobacco can compare with Tuxedo in mildness and aroma!'" The rear panel features an ad for "Patterson's Tuxedo Tobacco," with a dapper gentleman smoking a pipe in the center. The folded box is lacking one of the side panels; a second example of the rear panel, detached from another box, is included. In good to very good condition, with various tears (some with tape repairs and reinforcements), stains, and some paper loss. Rudolph was the star pitcher for the 1914 Boston Braves, and won two games in the World Series against Connie Mack's heavily favored Philadelphia Athletics.
