Lawyer-turned-writer (1889-1970) best known as the creator of fictional defense attorney Perry Mason. Two items: a Christmas card featuring a photo of a rabbit on the front, measures 6.25 x 9.25 open, signed inside in black felt tip by the author, “Yours, Erle Stanley Gardner,” and by his wife in blue ink, “Jean Bethell Gardner,” with the inside of the card also bearing a printed sentiment and facsimile signatures of the couple; and a matte-finish 4 x 5 photo of Gardner with one of his manuscripts, signed in black felt tip, “Yours, Erle Stanley Gardner.” In overall fine condition.
