Description

Elvis's personal trap shooting pump-action shotgun

Elvis Presley's personally-owned and -used 12-gauge pump-action shotgun, 'Ted Williams Model 200,' manufactured by Winchester for Sears Roebuck, serial #273.2160 VC, with a 26.5″ barrel, measuring 47.5″ overall. The left-hand side of the barrel is roll-marked with the brand name, chambering information, and serial number. A choke tube is fitted to the muzzle, and a push-button safety is located just forward of the trigger guard, with a slide-release lever immediately behind the trigger on the left-hand side. The metalwork shows a blued finish overall, with the exception of the trigger, loading gate, and ejection port. The shotgun shows minor wear to the loading gate and ejection port, with a slight amount of wear to the finish on the right-hand side behind the slide, else very good.

Elvis acquired this shotgun from Sears at the Southland Mall in Memphis in 1967, and used it primarily for trap shooting at his Circle G Ranch in Horn Lake, Mississippi. Accompanied by a photocopy of a letter of provenance from Elvis's cousin Billy Smith, as well as a notarized letter of provenance and deaccession from Mike L. Moon of the now-defunct Elvis & Hollywood Legends Museum at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Moon states that ownership of the shotgun was transferred to him by Billy Smith on August 17, 1981, and that it was thereafter displayed on the museum's wall.

This transfers as a modern firearm.
