Kentucky-born Union general (1822-1892) remembered for his defeat at the Second Battle of Bull Run. Ink signature, "Jno. Pope, Maj. Genl. U.S.A.,” on an off-white 3.75 x 2.25 card. The check is encapsulated in a plastic PSA/DNA authentication holder. In fine condition. This signature dates to some time after Pope's 1882 promotion to major general.
