Two items signed and inscribed by George Bush to his biographer Herbert Parmet:
Signed book: All the Best, George Bush. Later printing. NY: Scribner, 1999. Hardcover with dust jacket, 6.5 x 9.5, 640 pages. Signed and inscribed on a bookplate affixed to the first free end page in blue ballpoint, "Herb Parmet, A real writer from this amateur, with respect, All the best, George Bush, Nov. 23 1999, Houston." A couple post-it notes mark pages early in the book. In fine condition. Parmet had written Bush's first comprehensive biography, George Bush: The Life of a Lone Star Yankee, in 1997, during which time he had access to his personal papers.
TLS, one page, 6.25 x 8.5, personal letterhead, November 23, 1999. Letter to his biographer Herbert Parmet, in full: "I just can't thank you enough for your wonderful letter of November 15. A complement [sic] coming from you, a man for whom I have great respect, means a lot to me. Life is good, Herb, and we are very, very happy." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
