Description

Two items: a TLS signed "LBJ," one page, 7 x 8.75, personal letterhead, June 4, 1971, to Frederic R. Mann, concerning the dedication of the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library, in full: "Whenever we think of the dedication ceremonies, we will always remember the host of friends who wanted to share them with us. Both gave us pleasure and price. May twenty-second was one of the grandest days of our lives!"; and a first edition of A White House Diary by Lady Bird Johnson, hardcover with dust jacket, signed and inscribed on a bookplate affixed to the first free end page in black felt tip, "To Jayne and Charles Huey—I hope you will enjoy sharing these years—Lady Bird Johnson." In overall very good to fine condition, with a few small edge tears to the LBJ letter, paper loss to one corner, and toning from prior display. Accompanied by a photo and presidential card bearing pre-printed facsimile signatures; the notecard bears a printed message offering thanks for expressions of sorrow following the death of JFK.
