Small strand of hair belonging to Robert E. Lee, encased in a golden 1.25 x 1.75 frame affixed to the upper left corner of a certificate of authenticity signed by Louis Mushro as a member of The Manuscript Society. Certificate also bears a caption and preprinted signature from noted expert, Charles Hamilton, with a photocopy of the original provenance printed on the letter: "Partial lock of hair cut from General R. E. Lee's head by himself and presented by him…April 19, 1869." In fine condition.
