World War I-era wooden airplane propellor manufactured by the Starr Piano Company of Richmond, Indiana, measuring approximately 98″ long with a 9″ wide blade, bearing a faded "Starr, Richmond, Indiana" emblem and a Signal Corps 'clover leaf' inspection stamp. The propellor is attached to a small mount for potential display purposes. In very good to fine condition. Starr, which was established as a piano company in 1872, joined the American war effort in 1918 when it received a government contract to produce airplane propellors. An interesting piece of aviation and military history. Please contact RR Auction for a shipping quote.
