Golf ball box "removed from the private room next to the Oval Office in the White House, the morning of November 23, 1963"

President John F. Kennedy's personally-owned wooden box used to hold presidential golf balls to be given to guests and visitors, measuring 7.25 x 5.75 x 2.25, featuring metal hinges and a latch closure, labeled "X-177" on the bottom. In fine condition. Accompanied by a framed letter of authenticity from Kennedy's longtime secretary Evelyn Lincoln on White House letterhead, November 4, 1991, to noted JFK collector Robert L. White, in full: "This empty striped tan wooden box with latch to close, number X-177, which you now have in your possession, held golf balls printed with President John F. Kennedy, was removed from the private room next to the Oval Office in the White House, the morning of November 23, 1963. These balls were given to visitors, etc. during the Kennedy administration and also given out by President Kennedy." Boasting a single-digit handicap, President Kennedy is considered one of the best golfers to have served in the Oval Office.
