Coat-size brass button as worn on the uniform coat of Confederate soldiers, measuring approximately 1″ in diameter, with a gilt face featuring a stippled letter “I” in an ornate script displayed on an unlined field. Exhibits a backmark of “Halfmann & Taylor, Montgomery, Alabamd [sic].” In fine condition. Provenance: The Horse Soldier.
