Union general (1826–1885) hailed at the beginning of the Civil War as the ‘Young Napoleon,’ who was defeated for the presidency in 1864 by Abraham Lincoln. Ink signature, “very truly yours, Geo. B. McClellan, Jany 21, 1870,” on an off-white 5 x 3 lightly-lined sheet. In fine condition. Accompanied by an engraved portrait, a postcard, and a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
