Rare and controversial original color poster for a Led Zeppelin concert held at Southampton University’s The Old Refectory, Student Union Building on January 22, [1973], 19.25 x 29, depicting two SS officers posing with a seductive woman, with ticket information listed below. Rolled and in very good condition, with scattered creasing and some chips and adhesive remnants to corners; bottom of poster may have been slightly trimmed. Similar to the David Juniper-designed cover for Led Zeppelin II, which features a touched up image of the famed WWI Flying Circus division, this poster also displays a unique portrayal of German soldiers. Displayed around Southampton University, the poster was allegedly taken down under order of Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant, who found its Nazi-inspired content offensive.
