Sire Records double-sided 12″ vinyl test pressing of The Ramones’ 1978 Road to Ruin album. White Warner Bros. Record labels on both sides of the disc are blank. Includes an 8.5 x 11 “Label Copy” sheet, dated July 19, 1978, listing track names, running times, and copyright information. This test pressing predates the official album release of July 19, 1978, by over two months. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original paper sleeve, with notations reading, “Ramones, SRK–6063.” Test pressings are the first vinyl discs made at the factory and are produced in small numbers in order to evaluate disc and sound quality prior to mass production. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Chris Lamy, close friend of The Ramones and guitarist of The Jabbers, formerly GG Allin & The Jabbers. The Chris Lamy Collection.
