Description

Unparalleled collection of Punk rock’s most extreme persona

American punk rock singer-songwriter (1956–1993) whose obscene live shows, varied musical influences, and public self-destruction made him an unprecedented cult legend. Rare collection of items related to notorious punk rock singer-songwriter GG Allin, including: a one-of-a-kind double-sided 7″ test pressing of Public Animal No. 1, presented in its original Orange Records limited sleeve, with white labels on both sides of disc hand-notated by Allin in black felt tip, “You Hate Me & I Hate You” and “Automatic & Assface”; a Destiny Records double-sided 7″ of GG Allin and the Jabbers’ second single, ‘1980’s Rock ‘N’ Roll’ / Cheri Love Affair,’ with Allin circling the latter and adding “Airplay” on the original pink sleeve; an Orange Records double-sided 7″ of Allin’s third single, ‘Gimme Some Head / Dead or Alive’; a limited edition double-sided 7″ of GG Allin and the Jabbers’ Occupation EP, numbered 243/300; a Black and Blue Records 7″ of Public Animal No. 1; a set list for a 1982 concert at The Channel nightclub in Boston, handwritten by Allin on the reverse of a white 8.5 x 11 resume for Kevin M. Allin, the legal name for GG Allin. The ten-song set list includes titles such as “I Need Adventure,” “Bored to Death,” and “Don’t Talk to Me”; the resume lists Allin’s address, education, and working experience, with a job objective of “Laborer position in long-term environment.” Also included are a set of eight fanzines, including underground publications like The Times #2 and New Age, both of which feature articles and pictures of GG Allin and The Jabbers, and a ‘free’ issue of Into the Future: NH Rock ‘n’ Roll, a fanzine self-published by Allin; an 8.5 x 11 press release, one page both sides, listing quotes from a variety of critics concerning Allin; an 8.5 x 14 concert flyer presented by NH Underground for a GG Allin concert at Jumbo’s in Somerville, MA, hand-notated by Allin in red ink along the left edge mentioning a second concert date; and a 2 x 4.25 Jumbo’s events schedule that includes the aforementioned concert. In overall fine condition. Offering several unique items, this bold assemblage is an absolute must-have for extreme rock historians, as well as for anyone interested in owning ephemera from one of punk’s most volatile and transgressive personalities. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Chris Lamy, close friend of The Ramones and guitarist of The Jabbers, formerly GG Allin & The Jabbers. The Chris Lamy Collection.
