Union general and secretary of war (1829–1890) who holds the distinction of being the only Cabinet secretary ever to have been impeached. AQS on an off-white 4.25 x 2.75 card, signed in black ink, “Wm. W. Belknap, Wash’n D.C. Oct. 23d, 1885.” Belknap pens a quote from Shakespeare.
