Civil War–dated ALS signed “S. P. Chase,” one page, lightly-lined, 4.75 x 4.5, November 29, 1864. Letter to a gentleman. In full: “I regret that I must decline the invitation so kindly conveyed to me on the behalf of the Lyceum and Literary Association of Worcester.” Affixed to a gold 5.25 x 5 mount.
