Owen Wister

American writer (1860–1938) best known for his Western novel The Virginian. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, June 20, 1916. Letter to Edward Bok. In part: “You will have wondered at my Orchestral silence. That is because I have been in New England and also because I am sending my guarantee blank to my sister-in-law, through whom it has always gone.” Intersecting folds and scattered creases, otherwise fine condition.
