Confederate general (1816–1863) known for his inability to hold Fort Henry, who was killed at the Battle of Champion Hill during the the Vicksburg Campaign. Rare ink signature, “Lloyd Tilghman, Brig. Gen.,” on an off-white 3.25 x 1 slip clipped from a document. Affixed to a slightly larger card. In very good condition, with a vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature, scattered toning, and the signature a shade light.
