King of France (born 1553), the first of the Bourbon line, who ruled from 1589 until he was assassinated in 1610. Manuscript DS, in French, signed “Henry,” one page, 12.5 x 9, January 1594. An order to the treasurer to pay 1200 gold ecus, signed at the conclusion by the king. In very good condition, with signature extremely light and partially legible, a central vertical fold, clipped lower edge, and a few widely scattered pinholes. RR Auction COA.
