ALS in German, one page on a postcard featuring his image, 5.5 x 3.75, January 31, 1898. Letter to a lady. In full (translated): “As you, dear Madam, enjoy priority I would not want to omit fulfilling my obligation to you.” Reverse is also addressed in Virchow’s hand.
