ALS, signed “Doc,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Hotel Imperial letterhead, no date, but postmarked December 30, 1915. Letter to his wife Dolly. In part: “When I read that note I exclaimed: ‘Well, I’ll be G–D’d.’ That’s the funniest thing you ever said…I’ve not said any more to L—but I hardly think I could give it to her anyway…I’m all in but can’t say when I’ll be home.” Intersecting folds, a couple edge tears, and some light wrinkling, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in Grey’s hand to “Mrs. Zane Grey.” RR Auction COA.
