Description

William Henry Jackson

Painter, photographer, and explorer famous for his images of the American West (1843–1942). Three letters: ALS to to Martin S. Garretson, signed “W. H. Jackson,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, stamped personal letterhead, May 6, no date, in part: “Thank you very much, old man, for the autographed copy of the ‘American Bison.’” Another ALS signed “W. H. Jackson,” one page both sides, 5.75 x 9.25, Argonaut Hotel letterhead, July 26, [1932], in part: “I have decided to spend a week in camp with the Colorado Mountain Club.” And a third ALS signed “W. H. Jackson,” one page both sides, 6 x 9, Hotel Cornhusker letterhead, July 19, no year, regarding looking after his property while on a trip. In overall very good to fine condition, with a circular area of staining to one letter. Accompanied by one address panel from an original mailing envelope, filled out in Jackson’s hand.
