Description

Concerning requests that “bullet fragments be removed from John Connally’s body” following JFK's assassination

TLS signed “Gerald R. Ford,” one page, 6.25 x 8.5, personal letterhead, June 25, 1993. Letter to SSGT Dave Phillips, a retired Marine. In part: “Thank you…for your kind comments on my decision in the Mayaguez matter…Enclosed you will find a coy [sic] of a proposed Op-Ed piece on the request of some parties that bullet fragments be removed from John Connally’s body. The author, David Belin, was a top staff member of the Warren Commission and has written several books on the JFK Assassination. I agree with his conclusions. It would not be essential to remove any bullet fragments from the body.” In fine condition. RR Auction COA.
