Description

“I always say there are two people in every picture—the photographer and the viewer”

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, March 26, 1979. Letter to Roger Stavis. In part: “I always say there are two people in every picture—the photographer and the viewer. So even if there are no ‘people’ in my landscape photographs, I like to feel the human element is not lacking. I have taken portraits for a great number of years and I do not know why they are not as well known as my landscapes.” In fine condition. RR Auction COA.
