Fourth child of Joseph Kennedy (1920–1948) and sister of John F., Robert, and Edward Kennedy, who was killed in a plane crash in the south of France. Signed on the first free end page, “Kathleen Kennedy, 1936–1937, 4° annee la mille Duguin.” Autographic condition: fine condition, with pencil notations above and below signature and a uniform shade of mild toning. Book condition: G+/None. Green cloth-covered boards; cloth over spine completely detached but still present; edges worn, with several tears in cloth; few interior hinges loose; light soiling; inkstamp and small notes to feps. After graduating from the Riverdale County School and attending the Norton Convent of the Sacred Heart, Kathleen spent a year abroad studying at the Holy Child Convent in Neuilly, France, where no doubt this particular book was of much help.
