I am returning the five dollar bill and requesting you to get for me two copies of that miniature book having my address to the Joint Session of Congress. I want these very much for a granddaughter and a grandson, respectively eighteen and nineteen years of age and bright and lovely.” Sandburg also hand wrote “please!!” in the margin next to his request.
