Journalist and statesman (1841–1929) who served as Prime Minister of France during World War I. ALS signed “G. Clemenceau,” one page, 7.5 x 9.5, October 19, 1926. Letter to a general. In part: “The plain fact is that my arteries are in good order and that I have diabetes which I consider as cured by insuline [sic]. Therefore I can but thank you for your kind offer as well as your doctor friend.” A note from the general at the bottom explains that he was invited to America for free medical treatment.
