Original late 1800s cabinet card of Morse, 4.25 x 6.5, by D. P. Thomson of Kansas City. The image is second generation, perhaps a copy of an etching. Photographer’s stamp on reverse as well as a vintage ink handwritten caption which reads, “Samuel F. B. Morse—from an old Daguerreotype found in the West Indies and now in possession of his Grandson S. F. B. Morse.” Some light marks to the image and light paper loss on back, otherwise light wear.
