Union officer who was severely wounded at the Battle of Cedar Mountain and went on to serve at the adjutant general’s office in Washington. He was the first to dispatch guards to Ford’s Theatre after Lincoln’s assassination and assisted in taking witness statements. Civil war-dated partly-printed DS, filled out by Pelouze and signed “Louis H. Pelouze, Asst. Adj. Genl,” one cardstock page, 5.5 x 3, July 29, 1864.
