He was the first to dispatch guards to Ford’s Theatre after Lincoln’s assassination and assisted in taking witness statements. Civil war-dated partly-printed DS, filled out by Pelouze and signed “Louis H. Pelouze, Asst. Adj. Genl,” one cardstock page, 5.5 x 3, July 29, 1864.
