ALS, one page, 8.5 x 5.5, Belasco Theatre letterhead, October 7, 1913. Letter to Augusta Raymond Kidder. In full: “I can not truly answer your question, ‘Do women writers equal men etc’—but you want my opinion as to men or women in comedy or tragedy, I would say that I think men excell [sic] in both,—and see to it please that the women of the stage do not grieve over this opinion—after all, I may be wrong.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds and light scattered creases.
